Anonymous Donor Inspires $1 Million For California Aerospace Museum

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — An anonymous donation has added up to big bucks for the California Aerospace Museum.

The donor gave $250,000 to the museum to be matched by other donors this year. Not only was that goal reached, but another $250,000 was given and matched by Sacramento County. A grand total of $1 million was donated for new exhibits.

The California Aerospace Museum has many great exhibits for children and adults alike to enjoy. There are plenty of airplanes, break down of airplane engines, and airplane related exhibits to teach air enthusiasts. Along with a virtual reality ride, they also have flight simulators. Children are given the chance to sit in what feels like a real cockpit and try their hand at flying. Soon there will be even more to explore.

The donations this year will pay for a Da Vinci exhibit, which will include 40 hands-on inventions for kids to explore. That exhibit will run from February to May, and be followed by another more permanent exhibit.

A STEM-focused exhibit will also be sponsored permanently at the museum. They are hoping it will be a hands on space or weather exhibit.
