Amtrak Train Hits Car Abandoned On Tracks In Davis

DAVIS (CBS13) – A woman is under arrest in Yolo County after an Amtrak train slammed into her car that she had abandoned on the tracks, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The train with 20 people on board was headed to the Bay Area when it hit the car near County Road 32A and 105 just before 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night.

The engineer didn't have time to stop by the time he saw the abandoned vehicle in his path.

No one was hurt on the train.

The driver was taken to jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
