Alleged Salon Burglar Arrested

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) -- A man suspected of breaking in to salons to steal hair-care products and cash before speeding away on a motor scooter is under arrest for burglary.

Modesto police on Sunday said they arrested 37-year-old David Benjamin Hill after finding unopened hair products and stolen cash at his apartment.

Police Sgt. Derrick Tyler told the Modesto Bee that investigators spotted a motor scooter at an apartment complex that matched the description of the burglar's getaway vehicle.

After tracing the license plate to Hill, officers arrested him on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and violating parole.

Police say Hill broke into three separate Modesto salons.
