Above Normal Highs Kickoff Sunny Weekend, End With Cooler Temperatures
Temperatures across the valley are soaring into the low 80s to kick off the weekend.
Sacramento's forecast high of 81 degrees Friday afternoon is 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Clear skies will continue overnight Friday, sending low temperatures dipping into the upper 40s.
Sunshine will return on Saturday with slightly cooler highs in the upper 70s.
A more significant cool-down will be in effect on Sunday as a weak system will brush by just to the north of the Sacramento area. It will cause highs to drop into the low 70s with a chance of mountain showers Sunday night, but will remain dry and mostly sunny elsewhere across Northern California.
Gusty winds will return Sunday night and continue into Monday. There's a chance Monday's peak wind gusts could reach 40 to 45 mph. Expect a mix of clouds, sunshine and highs in the valley topping out around 70 degrees.
