Above Normal Highs Continue Through Weekend
It looks like those forecasted record-shattering temperatures will be cooler than expected, but don't think it means we'll be avoiding a hot weekend.
Normal highs for this time of year should be around the mid-80s, but that doesn't seem to be the case after Wednesday.
The potential of record-breaking temperatures is still prevalent as we see a significant rise Thursday, topping off around 94 degrees, and will rise more than 10 degrees by Friday.
Friday is expected to hover around 100 degrees, which has the potential of breaking the 102 degree record set in 1883. The weekend doesn't look too promising either as Saturday is forecasted to break the 103 degree record set in 1973 with a forecasted high of 104 degrees.
Low humidity and northerly winds Friday and Saturday are also causing concern of an increase in fire danger, which will linger into Sunday as the chance for thunderstorms increases.
Individuals sensitive to heat exhaustion are cautioned to be careful outside due to the hot temperatures.
