Girlfriend Of Vacaville Murder Suspect Arrested As Accessory
VACAVILLE (CBS13) -- Vacaville police recently arrested the girlfriend of a suspect in a homicide that took place in July.
Danaya Jordan, 20, of Vacaville was arrested when she attempted to visit her boyfriend, Rico Espitia, at the Solano County Jail in Fairfield on Oct. 8, police said. She was charged with being an accessory to murder.
Officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1500 block of Alamo Drive on July 30. The victim was identified as Quinten Nears, who died at the scene. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Espitia on Aug. 25, and he was captured a few days later in Ocean Shores, Wash., and extradited back to Solano County.
During the ongoing investigation into the homicide, detectives obtained information that suggested Jordan assisted in Espitia's escape from arrest and tampered with evidence, police said. Jordan was charged with being an accessory and participation in criminal street gang.
Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact Detective Chris Lechuga at (707) 449-5269.
