6 Arrested In Elk Grove Graduation Party Shooting
ELK GROVE, Calif. (AP) -- Police have arrested six people in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old at a Northern California high school graduation party.
The five adults and a 15-year-old were taken into custody in Sacramento and Elk Grove on Wednesday.
Elk Grove police say they are connected to the shooting of D'Andre Blackwell at a Holiday Inn Express in Elk Grove on June 5. Blackwell was celebrating his high school graduation when he was shot in the chest during a confrontation.
Blackwell, who had recently graduated from Valley High School, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they are still trying to identify additional suspects.
The adults who were arrested were identified as 20-year-old Al Allen, Deandre Gomes and Raymond Shaw, both 19, 18-year-old Kionte Lightner, and 22-year-old Brandon Washington.
