5 Great NASCAR Media Day Quotes: From Hangovers To Villains
The Daytona 500 revs up on February 22! To get things rolling, NASCAR's finest came together for NASCAR Media Day yesterday, and they had some very interesting -- and entertaining -- things to say to the press. Here are five of the best quotes from the Media Day interviews:
Clint Bowyer spoke about his high hopes for the "prize" he'll be bringing home after the big race:
"Hopefully, we can leave (Daytona) with a really cool trophy and a hell of a hangover."
Is Brad Keselowski a credit to his sport? Jamie McMurray weighs in:
"I think that when the racing community looks at Brad (Keselowski) he is a little goofy, and so to be a villain and be goofy is kind of hard to put those together. I like Brad. Some of the stuff he says all of us shrug our shoulders, close our eyes and are like 'I wouldn't have said that.' But there is normally a little bit of truth in it as well."
Joey Logano found out his friend Brad Keselowski is going to be a dad. Here's what he had to say:
"I knew for a while -- so I can keep a secret. I think he will be a fine dad. I think that is a bigger game changer than getting married."
Who gets a little tense on the racetrack? It's AJ Allmendinger:
"I would say Lap 1 through 200. That's pretty much it. Laps 1 through 200 are pretty stressful."
Guess who gets a little homesick: David Ragan. Here's what he hates about NASCAR:
"What is not fun is having to leave every Wednesday or Thursday and be gone through Sunday 38 weekends a year. … You take for granted just doing normal things like going to the grocery store. There is a little farmers market down the road that is only open on Fridays and Saturdays, and that pisses me off because I am always gone during the summer."
