5 Arrested For Deadly Fairfield Robbery

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (CBS13) -- Five suspects have been arrested for the death of an elderly neighborhood store owner, who died after being assaulted and pepper sprayed during a robbery late last month, police said.

The Fairfield Police Department said witness reports and surveillance video from nearby businesses led to the arrest of two 17-year-old males and a 15-year-old male from Fairfield, as well as 18-year-old Chelsea Johnson of Vacaville.

Three of the juveniles allegedly attacked 70-year-old Ho Jun Kim on June 28 in the Travis Dairy story on East Travis Boulevard, using pepper spray to subdue him while they grabbed money out of the cash register and the store's video recorder. The other juvenile stood watch outside the store and Johnson drove the getaway vehicle, according to investigators.

Kim called police to report the robbery, but was soon stricken by cardiac arrest and died while being rushed to the hospital.

All of the suspects are facing charges of homicide and robbery. The identities of the underage suspects will not be released unless they are charged as adults, authorities said.
