4.0-Magnitude Quake Rumbles Off NorCal Coast
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.0 hit about 85 miles off the Humboldt County coast Wednesday night.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 9:19 p.m. about 85 miles southwest of Eureka, or about 77 miles west of Ferndale.
A Eureka police dispatcher says police had not received any calls about the quake, and that it was not felt at police headquarters.
