3 Dead In Reported Calaveras County Shooting, 2 Arrested
CALAVERAS COUNTY (CBS13) — Three people are dead following reports of gunfire in a small Calaveras County community, leaving neighbors on edge about their own safety.
Crime scene investigators used flashlights late into the night, searching for any new clues on this property where three bodies were found in the morning hours.
Earlier in the day investigators could be seen taking measurements, placing evidence markers. Some went door-to-door in this mountain community, interviewing neighbors in this nearby mobile home park...who all heard the gun blasts.
Debbie Koonce says deputies used her backyard searching for evidence.
"They're looking for the person, that did this because they've been going at it since 11 o'clock, 11:30?" she said.
A Calaveras County Sheriff's spokesperson declined to issue any official statements about the homicide investigation, because interviews are ongoing.
Calaveras County Supervisor Christopher Wright posted to his personal Facebook page saying a suspect is in custody.
Wednesday morning, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office confirmed that two people had been arrested in connection to the shooting.
