3.2 Magnitude Quake Shakes Santa Clara County

SAN JOSE  — A small earthquake shook the Santa Clara County area Wednesday night just after 10:30 pm.

The U.S. Geological Survey registered the quake at a preliminary magnitude of 3.2  with its epicenter located 12 miles east-southeast from San Jose City Hall.

A smaller aftershock with a magnitude of 2.2 hit about an hour later in the same area.
