2-Year-Old Hit And Killed By Box Truck In South Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sacramento Police are investigating what they call an apparent accident after a boy was run over by a truck in an apartment complex parking lot.
It happened just after 3 p.m. Sunday in the Aspen Park apartment complex in south Sacramento.
Police say that the two-year-old child, identified as Royal Mitchell, apparently ran out into the parking lot and was hit by the truck. Neighbors say Mitchell was playing with a ball in a parking lot when the truck hit him.
The boy was transported to an area hospital and later died as a result of the injuries.
Officers say the driver of the truck is cooperating with their investigation.
