2 Suspects Arrested For Trying To Rob Blood Donation Clinic
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Donors and employees at a blood donation clinic in south Sacramento had quite a scare after suspects tried to rob the clinic at gunpoint.
On Tuesday morning, two men wearing masks ran inside the clinic with guns drawn. But when people inside the clinic saw the guns, panic broke out.
"Sitting in the lobby, somebody came running in with a mask on and hoods. You hear somebody yell out, 'they got a gun' and everybody ran, so we all ran out of the lobby and came out," said a witness.
The suspects ran out as well and were arrested by police a short time later.
When a CBS13 crew arrived on the scene, witnesses were being brought to the police car to try to identify the men in the back seat as the suspects.
A few minutes after the botched robbery, a Brink's truck pulled up. A former clinic manager says the truck comes to the business twice a week at the same time. It's unknown if the suspects were trying to time their robbery to coincide with the truck's arrival. She says at any given time the clinic may have $5,000-$7,000 on hand.
One woman has slight injuries after she was knocked down while everyone was leaving the building.
