2 Sonora High School Students Arrested For Sexual Assault

CALAVERAS COUNTY (CBS13) – Deputies say that two Sonora High School students have been arrested on sexual assault charges.

According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department, the alleged sex assault happened at a party at a home along the 600 block of Skyline Drive of Tamarack back on June 21. Deputies say the two were drinking alcohol at the party when the assault took place.

No other details about the alleged assault have been released.

Deputies arrested the two, who have only been identified as 16 and 17 year old Sonora High School students, around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The two students have been booked into the Calaveras County Probation Department.
