2 Dead, 6 Hurt In South S.F. Shooting

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) -- South San Francisco police are searching for up to three men suspected in a shooting that left two dead and four injured.

KTVU-TV the shooting took place around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday when assailants in a car drove by and opened fire on a group of young men in a mixed-use neighborhood.

The San Jose Mercury news reports that one of the four injured men is fighting for his life.

South San Francisco police Sgt. Joni Lee says the suspects were driving a brown Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows.

Lee could not say whether the shooting was a gang-related, but says the neighborhood where the shooting occurred is known to have gang activity.
