When the officers swerved to avoid the crash, they lost control of their vehicle, slamming into a guardrail. They died after their vehicle overturned.
Authorities estimate the freeway will be closed at least until 1 p.m. today.
CHP identified the two officers as Juan Gonzales and Brian Law.
