SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police say 14 protesters have been cited after blocking a road near the State Capitol early Wednesday morning.
The protesters were out at the Capitol to stand for affordable child care for low-income families.
Labor and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta was one of the keynote speakers at the protest. Parents and child care providers made up a good portion of the protesters at the event, organizers said.
A group of protesters blocked L Street, near 11th Street, for a short time. Authorities arrested 14 of the protesters for blocking traffic.
The protesters have since been cited and released, Sacramento Police say.
