The game was tied 28-28 after four quarters before Central Valley scored a touchdown and successfully kicked an extra point in the first overtime period. West Mifflin needed little time to answer on its possession. Quarterback Derrick Fulmore scored on a a 10-yard run, then ran for the two-point conversion as West Mifflin won 36-35 in overtime. The victory pushed the Tigers into the WPIAL Class AAA championship game at Heinz Field.
