Zeise: Steelers Offense Devoid of Playmakers
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Paul Zeise spent a portion of his show Sunday night reacting to the Steelers' 26-20 overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was not a fan of Kansas City Head Coach Andy Reid kicking a field goal to force overtime.
Reid had previously gone for it on the fourth down and then passed on a field goal attempt to go for it on fourth down in overtime.
"The only time he played like it was a regular season game was late in regulation when everybody was trying to get the heck out of the stadium and go home," Zeise said. "It made no sense to me."
Zeise noticed that the Steelers threw the ball downfield more against Kansas City, and added that it might have to be a part of the game plan this year.
"Honestly, I'm watching this team and I see an offense that is really, really devoid of playmakers," Zeise said.
Zeise added that Antonio Brown is a legitimate playmaker, but they need to let Ben Roethlisberger make plays.
Zeise did notice some big plays from the defense against the Chiefs, particularly from rookie Jarvis Jones.
"Troy (Polamalu) had some big plays, they got to the quarterback a little bit," Zeise said. "That's really the thing that I think is going to carry this team is that defense."
Zeise added that it's a formula that has had success in the past.
