Youngstown State Tops Robert Morris 89-81
MOON TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Marcus Keene and Bobby Hain had 24 points apiece to lead Youngstown State over Robert Morris 89-81 on Tuesday.
The game was tied at 75 with 2:34 left but after a pair of Shawn Amiker free throws, Keene drilled a 3-pointer to open a 5-point lead and the Penguins made 9 of 10 from the line down the stretch to ice it.
Robert Morris (2-5) led by two at intermission on the strength of a 10-0 run to close the half, highlighted by 3-pointers from Elijah Minnie and Lucky Jones.
Youngstown State (5-4) shot 54 percent from the floor. Amiker had 12 points, Shaun Stewart 11 and Jalon Plummer added 10. Hain grabbed 14 rebounds.
Robert Morris was led by Jones' 21 points, including four 3-pointers.
Rodney Pryor added 14 points, while Kavon Stewart and Stephan Bennett had 10 apiece. The Colonials shot 52 percent and were 9 of 19 on 3-pointers.
