Yohe: Letang, Fleury Trade Possibilities
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Penguins were officially eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs Friday night by the Boston Bruins.
Speculation has surrounded what direction the club will go in this off-season, starting with head coach Dan Bylsma.
"There could be some kind of change coming; it wouldn't shock me," the Tribune Review's Josh Yohe told KDKA's Bob Pompeani. "My gut tells me that Dan Bylsma probably will stay, but it's certainly not a 100 percent feeling right now."
The Penguins failed to reach the Stanley Cup Final even though they acquired future-Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla. Yohe discussed Iginla's contribution, and pointed to his playing out of position at left wing as a factor.
"Obviously, they thought he would contribute a little more than he did," Yohe said. "I think they were under the impression Jarome was playing at a higher level perhaps than he was, but I also think they misused him horribly."
The roster could be very different next season. With the salary cap falling in 2013-14, the Penguins may have to trade one or more players.
"If anyone gets traded this summer, I look at Letang and I certainly look at Marc-Andre Fleury who, for all of his talent, looks like a completely broken goaltender to me right now," Yohe said.
Yohe added that he expects one or even both to be traded.
