WVU Signs Holgorsen To Six-Year Extension
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- West Virginia signed head football coach Dana Holgorsen to a six-year contract extension Wednesday.
He'll get a raise from $1.725 million to $2.3 millon under the new contract. Holgorsen has a $2-million buyout.
Within the contract are monetary bonuses. Holgorsen can earn $50,000 for a top-10 ranking at season's end, $200,000 for winning the Big 12 championship and $250,000 for winning the national championship.
"It's a significant committment. From the University to Coach Holgorsen," West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck said. "We're very excited that Dana is making a long term commitment to us and we're obviously excited about the season that's rapidly approaching."
