WVU Athletic Director Oliver Luck On Move To Big 12
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- West Virginia Athletic Director Oliver Luck joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller to talk about the Mountaineers trying to get out of the Big East, and what they're trying to do in order to get into the Big 12 by 2012.
One of the reasons West Virginia feels as though they can get out of the Big East before the agreed upon 27-month waiting period is that the Big East didn't do their part in keeping the football conference viable.
One downside of all the conference realignment is the potential loss of the Backyard Brawl. Luck said the West Virginia-Pitt rivalry has been tremendous between the two schools dating back to his own playing days at West Virginia, and with their Big 12 schedule containing 9 conference matchups, will only have three non-conference games to try to squeeze the rivalry in to.
We wrapped things up with Luck discussing his son, Stanford Quarterback Andrew Luck, and what kind of situation he'd like to see him land into when he enters the NFL draft.
