WVU AD Oliver Luck On Renewing Rivalry With Pitt: 'We're Working On It'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - West Virginia University Athletic Director Oliver Luck sits on the college football playoff committee and spoke with The Cook and Poni show on 93-7 The Fan about upcoming decisions.
Luck is one of 12 committee members deciding who the four college football play-off teams are.
"I, as well as the other committee members will use a combination of subjective decisions along with a lot of objective data," Luck said in regards to choosing the top four teams.
Luck told the show that the rankings will be discussed on Monday and released at some point on Tuesday. Luck also said that the transition to the Big 12 for WVU has been good for the football team.
"It's great to be in a conference where it seems like every week, if it's not a top five or a top 10 team, it's a team that was just in the top five or top 10," Luck said. "And I think as a result, it's a pretty deep conference. Anybody can beat anybody."
The WVU athletic director also spoke about the lack of WVU versus Pitt rivalry games.
"We're working on it," Luck said. "It's a great rivalry and we would like to get it back on our schedule."
Luck will be at Heinz Field on Sunday watching a football game for a different reason. His son, Andrew Luck, a quarterback for the Colts will play against the Steelers.
"They've got a stiff challenge against the Steelers," Oliver Luck, who is also a former NFL quarterback said. "That's never an easy place to play at Heinz Field."
The Steelers take on the Colts at Heinz Field on Sunday at 4:35 p.m.
