Woman's Shooting Death A Mystery After She Was Found In Car Along Rt. 40
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are trying to figure out who killed a woman found dead in her car in Fayette County.
Police say they were called around 8:30 a.m. Saturday for a crash on Route 40, near the entrance to Lick Hollow Park in Hopewood.
Police say the car was first discovered by PennDOT snow plow operators. However, they realized 37-year-old Mya Ann Grady of Uniontown was inside. She had been shot to death.
The highway was closed for several hours while police looked for possible evidence.
Investigators describe the woman's death as a criminal homicide.
Mya's aunt, Tamara Grady, also of Uniontown, says that her niece may have been driving to work when she was found in her parked car.
Grady said she was devastated by the news of her niece's death.
"My niece was one of the most loving, friendly people you could ever meet; she didn't smoke, drink, or do drugs," Tamara said.
She says Mya didn't live life on the edge or or do anything that could lead to this horror.
"She was a straight-laced person," she said.
Besides her four children, the Mya's immediate survivors include her parents, two sisters and a brother.
