Woman's Murder In Latrobe Remains Unsolved

LATROBE (KDKA) -- A vigil was held for a young woman who was killed five years ago Tuesday.

Samantha Lang, 22, was found murdered in a home on Route 982 in Latrobe.

She was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Her throat was slashed.

No arrest has been made, but her family is confident justice will be served.

"It irritates me – I get mad at the police, but they tell me they're doing their job so I have to trust that they are and believe them," Rachel Miller, the victim's sister, said.

Lang's family says it's important to keep her memory alive.

"She was amazing and anybody that knew her knows that," Miller said.

Family and friends attended the candlelight vigil at Tree of Life Assembly of God in Latrobe Tuesday night.

"It's 5 years and my sister's killer still walks the streets living a normal life compared to the life we live because our life is not normal anymore," she said.

The family is convinced someone has information about the night Lang was killed. There is a $5,000 reward in the case.

Police say this remains an active investigation. They ask those with knowledge of the murder to come forward.

"However small or insignificant they might think this piece of information may be, it may be a significant piece that we are able to move forward with some type of arrest in this case," State Trooper Steve Limani said.
