1 Arrested In Deadly Marshall-Shadeland Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One man has been arrested after a deadly shooting in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.
A 25-year-old woman was shot around 3:30 a.m. in a home on courtright Street.
She has been identified as Jacquline Bush of Bellvue. She was found on the basement floor.
Police say she was in the home with 26-year-old Charles Miles.
According to police, Miles originally told them that Bush showed up at his door after he got home around 3:30 a.m. and that she was hurt. He said he took her to the basement and then called 911.
"We're trying to determine where she was shot," said Pittsburgh Police Lt. Victor Joseph. "We don't know if it was here, where she was found or another location."
Hours later though, when investigators returned to the scene, they discovered a bullet hole in the basement ceiling.
After that, police say Miles changed his story. Police say Miles showed up at police headquarters around noon and told them something different when confronted with new evidence.
Miles told police the shooting was an accident, saying the pair had gone bar hopping Friday night, then came back to the house and continued to drink and dance.
He said he stumbled on a table, where there was a gun, and when he picked up the weapon, it discharged and hit Bush.
Miles is charged with homicide and possession of a firearm.
