Woman Accused Of Robbing 2 Stores In Aliquippa

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- Police say the case of 41-year-old Renee Labuda is unusual for two reasons.

First, she's accused of robbing two stores in one day in Aliquippa, Beaver County, and second, "It's unusual that it's a female, usually don't see that too much from a female," said Aliquippa Police Chief Ralph Pallante.

Labuda is charged with first robbing the Suntex gas station one morning earlier this month and using hot coffee as weapon.

"Gets a coffee, sets it on the counter, goes to pay for it, the girl rings it up and opens up the cash register and she throws the coffee in her face," Chief Pallante said.

Police say Labuda snatched $80 from the register. The clerk was not seriously burned.

Later that day, Labuda allegedly robbed the Family Dollar store where she allegedly threatened to shoot and kill the clerks, but the chief says she didn't actually have a gun.

A few days later, Labuda is accusing of getting into an elderly man's home in Hopewell by asking for a glass of water in an attempt to rob him, but the man managed to force her out.

Aliquippa police arrested Labuda after seeing that she matched the description of the robber. She's now in the Beaver County Jail.
