Winter Storms Coming, Snow Wednesday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- Residents in some parts of Pennsylvania got a bit of a white Christmas, but forecasters are warning that they may be seeing a good deal more snow soon.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for parts of western and northern Pennsylvania beginning Wednesday, saying some areas could see snow falling at the rate of two or three inches per hour.
Some significant snowfall will create hazardous travel conditions for drivers.
The Pittsburgh area is expected to get as much as 6 inches of snow starting early Wednesday morning, any time after 5 a.m.
It's expected to snow on and off through Sunday.
Parts of Erie County and northwest Pennsylvania are under blizzard warnings.
Forecasters say the Erie and Crawford counties could get 10 to 14 inches of snow. Areas of northern Pennsylvania such as Bradford, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties could receive eight to 12 inches.
Parts of northeastern Pennsylvania and the Poconos may get five to eight inches of snow. A winter storm watch is in effect for other areas of the commonwealth.
