Winter Storm Wrapping Up, But Snow Shower Still Possible
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A blast of winter weather brought snow and ice to the Pittsburgh area Wednesday covering everything in a blanket of white and creating treacherous road conditions.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Cambria and Somerset counties.
KDKA Chief Meteorologist Jeff Verszyla says the snow is wrapping up, but the the wind could pick up overnight.
"We've been holding steady in the upper 20s throughout the course of the evening and won't see much drop off overnight tonight. I think we'll end up around 24 by wake up tomorrow morning," said Verszyla. "Factor in a north to northeast at seven gives us a wind chill at 21. I do expect winds are going to pick up a little momentum overnight tonight and they'll stay fairly brisk through the day tomorrow."
On Thursday, we'll see mainly cloudy skies with a high of 33 and a snow shower is possible.
"At wake up tomorrow morning, 24 degrees," Verszyla said. "I do think tomorrow - a lot of clouds, limited if any sunshine, lunchtime - 30 degrees and high temperatures only in the low, maybe mid-30s tomorrow. And there's an outside chance that we could sneak in a stray snow shower."

Even though the cold temperatures aren't going anywhere, we could see some sunshine on Friday.
"The next 24 hours, the area of low pressure races up the eastern seaboard toward New England; northwesterly flow could produce a few flurries across the area tomorrow, I don't think it's much. Overall though, high pressure begins to nose into the area tomorrow night, should break the clouds for some sunshine on Friday and set us up for a decent start to the weekend," Verszyla added. "But if you're looking for milder temperatures, don't hold your breath. It's going to stay chilly, below average right through the weekend."
