Winter Storm Causing Some To Change Holiday Travel Plans
GROVE CITY (KDKA) -- Some people hit the road early for Thanksgiving hoping to get to where they're going before the weather gets worse.
Donna Davidson, from Morgantown, was driving north on Interstate 79 Tuesday night so she could get to Upstate New York.
She said she left early because she feared how bad the snow might get.
"We were going to go tomorrow, but because of the storm we actually figured we'd try and get ahead of it, and hopefully, miss a little traffic and a little snow," said Davidson.
There were some accidents during the evening rush, but most of the drivers we talked with at a rest stop north of Slippery Rock said the road was just wet.
Outside the outlets in Grove City, roads were snow covered, but plow trucks kept treating them.
"I've been out for a couple hours now. It's tough pushing this stuff – wet and heavy, hard to move," said Adam Coulson, a plow driver.
Traffic was moving slowly, but moving.
By late Tuesday night, Butler County 911 was reporting no accidents.
