Winter Storm Brings Bone-Chilling Temperatures, High Winds
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - The winter storm that gave much of Pennsylvania a fresh coat of snow is now bringing bone-chilling temperatures and high winds.
The National Weather Service says temperatures could get as low as 20 below zero with wind chill.
The NWS also says as much as 9 inches of snow was reported in Sullivan County and 7 inches in Cambria County, with up to 4-and-a-half inches in eastern Pennsylvania and a little more than an inch in the Philadelphia area.
KDKA's Jon Burnett says the snow should be done until Tuesday, when we'll see some more snow showers.
But wind chill warnings are now in effect in many areas, with temperatures in the single digits to near zero expected in some areas, falling to below zero overnight.
Speed limits on some highways have been reduced to 45 mph, with 25 mph speed limits on all Delaware River Port Authority bridges.
Catholic Charities is also opening its warming station for people who need to escape the arctic blast.
