Winter Storm Advisories, Warnings In Effect
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Snow moved in Friday afternoon and will stick around for most of the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday for the following counties:
Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland.
The total accumulation expected in these areas is anywhere between two and four inches.
A Winter Storm Warning is also in effect for the Fayette and Westmoreland Ridges until 6 a.m. Sunday.
These areas can expect to see a total of about four to six inches of snow.
According to KDKA-TV's Jon Burnett, the heaviest snowfall can be expected Saturday morning and early afternoon.
Breaks in snow can be expected later this afternoon with some flurries and an occasional snow shower.
This latest round of winter weather will move out of the area Sunday morning.
