Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Uniontown
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- A Fayette County man is $200,000 richer after he purchased a winning Powerball ticket in Uniontown.
He purchased the ticket Wednesday at the Northside Market on North Gallatin Ave Ext.
Owner Jerrilyn Lemansky sold him the ticket.
She got a call from the lottery Thursday morning saying her family owned and operated business had sold the winning ticket.
The speculation over who won didn't last long.
A regular customer came in the store just 45 minutes later with a grin on his face.
He didn't want to be identified, but officials tell KDKA he matched all five white balls on the quick pick ticket he purchased yesterday.
He didn't match the Powerball, but will still walk away with $200,000 before taxes.
Jerrylyn Lemasky says this is the first big Powerball win her business has had since opening about two years ago.
They'll get a $500 prize for selling the winning ticket.
The winner, who has already submitted his paperwork, will get his check in the mail in a couple of weeks.
Lemansky says Powerball ticket sales haven't spiked just yet, but she's expecting that to change as the word spreads.
Regular customers are now hoping that Wednesday's win will be the start of a streak in Fayette County.
