Why No Buzz For Pens' Playoffs?

Here at the Fan Morning Show, we are often criticized for not spending enough time talking about the Penguins. I personally love hockey. I grew up playing and was lucky enough to go to Penguins games long before it was the cool thing to do.

What I don't get is how there seems to be a genuine lack of enthusiasm for the Penguins' first-round playoff series that opens Wednesday on home ice. I realize Geno and Sid are out and these Penguins are struggling to score goals, but that is no excuse. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are the finest post-season of any professional sport.

This is a fifth straight trip to the post-season for the Penguins and I sure hope it hasn't become blase for the fanbase. This team has been unbelievably resilient and with the prospect of Sidney Crosby returning at some point, why not dare to dream and get behind this team?

Hopefully, the reality and the intensity of the playoffs returns the passion that the Penguin fans have always brought. Please don't take the post-season for granted. Don't become spoiled fans.
