Wheeling Jesuit University Student Killed

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Wheeling Jesuit University player is dead after he was attacked off campus.

Police say 21-year-old Kevin Figaniak and a friend were attacked by three or four men early Saturday morning, when they were walking back to campus from a nearby bar.

Figaniak was transferred to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland where he died early Sunday morning.

The second victim only suffered scratches in the attack and refused treatment.

Figaniak was a senior business major from Bucks County and played on the lacrosse and club hockey teams.
