Three W. Va Schools Announce Partnership Allowing Students To Take Classes At Each University

WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - Two West Virginia universities and a college have formed a partnership that allows students to take courses at any of the three institutions and get credit at their home school.

Presidents from Wheeling University, West Liberty University and Bethany College met Thursday morning to officially sign a consortium agreement that becomes effective at the start of the spring semester, The Intelligencer reported.

The partnership was billed as the first of its kind in West Virginia. It will allow students at any of the three schools to take one class each semester at a partner school and get credit toward their degrees.

"This gives the student a much broader pool in which to swim and figure out who they are vocationally, who they want to be in life," Bethany President Rev. Tamara Nichols Rodenberg said. "The connection to a broader range of courses at partnering institutions is a key concept in our strategic plan, Bethany Connect. Serving students through connections is what Bethany College does best and we appreciate our partners in this."
