WFAN Jets Beat Reporter Peter Schwartz: Teams "Going To Be Sorry" They Didn't Get Burress
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- With Plaxico Burress returning to the Steelers, WFAN Jets beat reporter Peter Schwartz joined The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to give some insight into Burress' one-season stint with the Jets.
He said that Plaxico Burress was "absolutely" a threat last season, even after spending time in jail.
"In fact, I really thought the Jets should have brought him back," he said. "For his first year back, I thought he was pretty good."
He expects Burress to be an asset to the Steelers this season.
"This guy can help a team, and I think he's going to help the Steelers," Schwartz explained. "When it got down to the red zone [last season], he was lethal... teams are going to be sorry that they missed the ball on him. Everything that was thrown his way he caught."
He added that Burress seemed to be a good teammate, despite some of the issues he's had with practice during his career.
