West End Athletic Association Robbed, 1 In Custody

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police have arrested the man accused of stealing equipment from the West End Athletic Association.

Police say sometime between Dec. 1 and Dec. 4, someone stole sporting equipment, dozens of sweatshirts, a pizza oven and a nacho machine. The estimated value of the stolen property was around $7,000.

Wednesday, police say they got a tip and searched a house in the 1200 block of Arnold Street in Pittsburgh. Once there, they found a bull horn that was stolen from the Athletic Association and bags of hooded sweatshirts.

Police then arrested 32-year-old Phillip Dillard. Officials say during their search, Dillard talked about his involvement with the robbery.

Dillard is currently in the Allegheny County Jail on $25,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26.
