Website Claims To Offer Best Back-To-School Deals
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - It's almost time to head back to school, and it can cost a lot to stock up on everything your child needs.
However, a website called NoBetterDeal.com has some amazing prices to help you out and their headquarters are in Pittsburgh.
They stand by their name with great deals on everything from computers, printers and iPods to furniture, scooters and beauty products.
How can they sell these products at such a low price, and where do they come from?
"What I like to use is the question, 'Do you ever wonder what happens to the goods you return to the store because maybe they didn't quite work right or you saw something better?' We get involved working with retailers and manufacturers to take those goods back," CEO Bob Auray said.
Sometimes, only the box is opened or damaged. Sometimes they repair the product if it's not working right.
The website's parent company, Genco, which is headquartered in O'Hara Township, refurbishes the products so they're as good as new.
In fact, they sell the same products to discount stores including, Big Lots, Gabriel Brothers, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree.
"People might be buying our goods in those stores. And about three years ago, we opened up our own site to sell directly to consumers ourselves," Auray said.
NoBetterDeal.com clearly states the condition of the products to let you know if it was an open box item or if it was refurbished.
"One of the things people think, 'Oh, refurbishment. It's broken. Do I really want that?' I make the argument, it's actually better quality," Auray said. "If you're buying a refurbished product, you know it's been tested and is being refurbished by a company that does $100 million of refurbishments a year for various consumer electronics. And we offer a 60-day warranty. We think they're that good. I think they're terrific values."
You'll find even greater deals for products labeled "as is," which could be up to 80 percent off the retail price.
These may have a missing component and are not fully tested, but many people can fix them themselves. Those products also include the 60- day warranty.

- A refurbished Dell Studio laptop for $569, which will save you $729 off the retail price.
- An HP wireless printer is selling for only $60 which will save you $100.
- A 19-inch television, perfect for a dorm room for $137 dollars, which will save you $92 bucks off the retail price.
You do have to pay for shipping as well.
Genco gets the products from major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, Sears, Target, Walmart, Dell and HP.
However, there are often limited quantities, so you want to get it when you see it.
