Water Tanker Truck Crashes Into Washington Co. Home
SOMERSET TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A tanker truck making a home water delivery in Washington County on Friday slid into the side of a home.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Hoge Street in Somerset Township.
The tanker slid down a snowy embankment, across an ice-covered highway road, and into the home of Stacey and Michael Massucci.
Stacey said she was home with her 8-month-old son in their first floor living room. Suddenly, just below them, a tanker truck slid into the garage.
Masscussi told KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti, "Some pictures fell off the wall and stuff came off the mantle, too. There's lots of broken stuff.
The family is now staying with a relative until the home is deemed safe, since the major support beam of the home landed on the tanker.
Masscucci said the driver of the tanker was not in his cab when the truck rolled down the embankment and across the road.
Fortunately, a jeep parked in the driveway took the brunt of the tanker's impact and that likely prevented further damage to the home.
