Washington County Man Fatally Shot While Trying To Break Up Fight

WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Frank Tulock grew up in Washington, Washington County.

A brother, a son and a father, but now he's being called a hero after trying to break up what appeared to be a domestic disturbance early Sunday in Weirton, W. Va.

He suffered a fatal gunshot wound in the process.

"She kept begging someone to help, 'My God please help me!' He told his old lady call the police, and 'I'm going to go see what's going on,'" said Cindy Campbell, Tulock's aunt. "She told him, 'Please don't go out, I have a bad feeling. Please don't go outside.' And he said, 'If it was you, I would expect someone to help you.'"

Police say as Tulock tried to help, 18-year-old Adam Barnhart went inside and got a gun. Barnhart is accused of firing four shots at Tulock, then leaving him to die on his son's fourth birthday.

"She is telling him that daddy is in heaven, and that he is an angel now, but he doesn't understand," said Campbell. "All he wants is his daddy."

Barnhart is in jail on first-degree murder and domestic violence charges.

The woman at the center of it all will be okay physically, but the Tulock family won't ever be the same, hero or not.

"The mother of the girl that he saved said she will be in constant debt to his family, to his fiancé and children for saving her daughter's life, but that's not going to bring Frank back," said Campbell.
