Washington Co. Man, Daughters Robbed At Gunpoint By Family Friends
WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) – A Washington County family is living in fear after three armed men burst into their home, pulled a gun, demanded money and fired a shot.
It happened earlier this week at the home of Dustin Phillips.
Phillips is so frightened, he didn't want to be interviewed on camera. But off-camera, he told KDKA about the harrowing experience he and his five daughters endured.
Phillips says his daughters let the suspects in through the rear door, because they knew the guys – they're family friends.
Police have warrants out for them in connection with the robbers. The suspects are 19-year-old Sheldon Morris and 21-year-old Nathaniel Johnson. A third suspect has not been identified.
But Phillips says he knows the other guys so well, that he helped one of them pay for his mother's funeral. Phillips and his daughters stood in horror as the bandits held a gun to his head and fired a shot that missed.
They suspected he had a large amount of cash, but all they got away with was a Playstation and a backpack.
The suspects have been in trouble before. Johnson was on probation for receiving stolen property and eluding police. A warrant was already out for Morris in connection with an assault in Monessen.
Phillips says he's so scared that he has a loaded shotgun in his home and he's ready to use it for protection. He said he was going to get the gun when we knocked on his door.
