Walk On Wednesday: 'Baseball Does Some Stupid Things...This Is One Of Them'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Pirates color commentator and former pitcher Bob Walk joined The Fan Morning Show today for another edition of his weekly segment, "Walk on Wednesday."
He thinks that, even though the Pirates' offense could be a concern moving forward, their home run power may keep them afloat.
On the other hand, he feels that their pitching has been phenomenal, yet might get held back because their starters aren't going all that deep into games.
He thought Pedro Alvarez would be a slam dunk for the Home Run Derby, and that if fans are going to have a say in anything, they should definitely be choosing who competes in the derby.
"Baseball does some stupid things," Walk said in regards to having All-Star Game captains pick the derby squads. "This is one of them."
"Walk on Wednesday" can be heard every Wednesday on The Fan Morning Show at 8:40 a.m.
