Virginia Tech Head Coach Frank Beamer On Pitt Joining ACC
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Head Coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies Frank Beamer joined John Seibel and Joe Starkey of Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to preview his teams upcoming match up with the Pitt Panthers this weekend.
Beamer has been at Virginia Tech as their head coach for the past 25 years, but his first six seasons were a bit rocky as his teams went 24-40-2, and he told us that coaches today probably wouldn't have survived their first six years at a school with that kind of performance.
Beamer was with Virginia Tech when they left the Big East for the ACC and had some words of advice for the Panthers saying there's "some resentment from people in your former league."
We wrapped things up with Beamer getting his thoughts on what he sees from Pitt this year on the tape he has been watching.
"I look at this Pittsburgh team, they got good players, I know they're going through a lot of coaching changes, and I think when you go through coaching changes there's an adjustment period...they're tough guys, they play hard, and that's exactly what I see on the video right now."
Kickoff between Pitt and Virginia Tech is at noon this Saturday, with pregame starting on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN at 9 a.m. with Panther Preview.
