Vandals Target Cars With BB Gun
AMBRIDGE (KDKA) - For the third time this year, police are looking for vandals who used a BB gun to shoot more than two dozen car windows.
Police said the vandals drove through five Beaver County communities damaging property Sunday night through Monday morning.
Ambridge Police said vandals drove down Lenz Avenue Sunday night and shot windows out of parked cars for four blocks.
"We got the first complaint around [11:10 p.m.]. We had 13 vehicles in Ambridge that were vandalized by BB guns," Sgt. James Mann said.
David Debogovich thinks it's going to cost $500-$600 to replace two windows in his 1993 Ford.
Police said the vandals even shot two holes in the living room windows of Bob Vidovich's apartment.
But the vandals didn't stop in Ambridge. They shot out car windows in Conway, Baden, Economy and Harmony.
At least 30 vehicles were damaged and police are expecting more reports.
"We have a good idea who might be doing this. They're from the area here. This was a tremendous inconvenience for people getting up to go to work. You get in your car to go to work and find your windows shot out," Sgt. Mann said.
Police in the affected communities are following leads and working closely to catch the people responsible for the vandalisms.
They're offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
