Unusual Death Under Investigation In North Braddock
NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA)- Officials are looking into a rather unusual death in North Braddock Wednesday night.
According to police, officers were called to a home in the 1300-block of Brinton Avenue around 9 p.m.
When they arrived, they found a man hanging from a balcony by his arm.
According to the Medical Examiner's Office, 53-year-old Peter Pajich had jumped from his neighbor's balcony to his balcony, so he could enter through a second-floor window after finding himself locked out of his home.
Pajich's jump led his arm to be stuck on his balcony and he was later found by a neighbor.
He was rushed to UPMC Shadyside Hospital, where he died around 11:45 p.m.
Police believe Pajich was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
People who saw Pajich less than an hour earlier at a neighborhood bar said they refused to serve him because at that point he appeared to have had enough already.
"He asked me if I could get him a beer, he had the money, he just wanted me to buy it for him, and I was like, 'I can't do that I'll get barred, I'll get in trouble,'" said Jeremy Cannon, a witness. "He staggers away, he leaves, and like 20 minutes later, I smoked a cigarette, drank a beer and there was like police everywhere."
His death has been ruled as accidental. An autopsy is planned for today.
Pajich was a registered sex offender on the Megan's Law website, for allegedly luring a child into a vehicle or structure.
