In an 'Emmy's 2012: Who WE Would Nominate' article written by Tim Surette from tv.com, he and his colleague, Price Peterson, put together their lists for who they would nominate for the Emmy's. The actual Emmy nominations don't come out until tomorrow, but we were happy to see that Price Peterson gave some well deserved credit to The Vampire Diaries.
After choosing his top five for 'Outstanding Drama Series' he explained why he choose The Vampire Diaries as one of them, "Admittedly some of my picks are more respectable than others, but I mean that Vampire Diaries one in all earnestness. It'll be a cold day in heck before the Emmy voters even learn of The CW's existence, but as far as excellent ensembles and storytelling go, TVD is right up there with any other prestige programming; it's just stuck in the written-off ghetto that is teen supernatural drama." So true!
He also gave Nina Dobrev and Candice Accola nods, even though he said, "Nina Dobrev would be a long shot, for 'Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series,' but Elena's arc was particularly tragic this year, plus Katherine is never not electrifying." So you're telling me there's a chance!? ;)
All we know is that The CW, and especially The Vampire Diaries rarely get the credit they deserve and we're hoping that will change soon. Who would you like to see nominated tomorrow?
