Police: Overnight Gas Station Robberies Are Connected, 2 Suspects Sought

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are looking for two suspects after two armed robberies that are believed to be connected overnight at Allegheny County gas stations.
The first robbery happened around 3:15 a.m. at a 7-Eleven/Exxon station on James Street in Turtle Creek.
Officials say two men walked into the business, one of them was armed with two guns and wearing a mask. The second man was an accomplice.
"Wow," said Art Simpson, who lives in Turtle Creek, when he heard about the robbery. "That's interesting, not around here. This is very peaceful neighborhood, as you can see, you can walk around here. You would never [expect] anything like this to happen."
Police describe the suspects as black males. The armed suspect was wearing a black jacket with the hood pulled up over his head and a black mask covering the lower portion of his face. The accomplice also had on a hooded jacket that was pulled up over his head.
The two men ran away from the store after the robbery. They ended up getting away with about $600.
Investigators say there are a lot of surveillance cameras both inside and outside of the store. They reviewed the footage and found these images of the suspects.
Erin Seaber, who lives nearby, said, "It scares me, number one, because I'm a teacher in the area, I don't want the kids, any students of ours to get injured."
The second robbery happened just after 4:30 a.m. at the BP gas station on Frankstown Road in Penn Hills, less than six miles away from the first scene.
Authorities say two suspects were involved in that incident as well, one of them armed and the second was an accomplice.
Police say the suspects got away with about $300.
A clerk says one of the robbers wore two different shoes - one was yellow, the other was black.

Allegheny County Police say the description of the suspects in both incidents are the same, down to the two different shoes.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). They are urging anyone who sees the suspects to call 911 immediately.
